David Varnam
Candidate: Wisconsin Lt. Governor

David Varnam was mayor of Lancaster from April 2016-2022 after serving nearly three years as a member of the Common Council. As mayor, he worked at keeping property taxes and utility fees low, attracting new businesses and retaining existing ones. When he left office as Mayor, Lancaster had the lowest property taxes and lowest utility fees of any city in Grant County. He served on the Grant County Economic Development Corporation and led as president in 2020 to promote county growth.

Varnam has served as a U.S. congressional aide and represented the global Christian ministry, Focus on the Family, for Dr. James Dobson as a federal policy analyst. He has been married to Jessica, a family practice physician, since 2003. They have two daughters, Sophia and Abigail.

His priorities are being bold on lowering taxes, protecting the sanctity of life, keeping men out of women’s sports and their bathrooms, giving parents a choice and a voice in education, and raising test scores, standards and expectations for our students.

He is endorsed by Wisconsin Family Action PAC and Pro-Life Wisconsin PAC.
