Recap: RPSC 2026 Freedom Fest Honoring our Frist Responders

Recap: August 15, 2026
Republican Party of Sheboygan County’s
2026 Freedom Fest – Honoring our First Responders

It was a successful and fun-filled day at this year’s Freedom Fest at Plymouth City Park! About 45 members and guests joined us for an afternoon of fellowship, great food, special guests, and an opportunity to recognize some of the first responders who serve our communities.

This year’s theme was Honoring First Responders, and we were fortunate to have several special guests join us.

Deputy Wendler and K-9 Storm from the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department gave a fascinating presentation about their work together. Deputy Wendler discussed their duties and demonstrated Storm’s ability to search for and locate drugs. Members also had the opportunity to meet Storm up close — and give him a little well-deserved attention!

Orange Cross Ambulance paramedics joined us as well. Duty called shortly after they arrived, but they were able to return later — this time with a second ambulance. Several guests toured the inside of an ambulance and learned about the extensive medical equipment carried on board. Paramedic Jennifer also spoke about the important work they do every day.

Tim Brill brought his 1967 fire truck, giving everyone a chance to take a closer look at this wonderful piece of firefighting history. Tim decorated the truck with patriotic flags and banners, making it a perfect addition to the day.

We were also pleased to welcome several elected officials and candidates who spent time visiting with those in attendance and addressing the group about the importance of staying informed and involved as we approach another important election. Joining us were Congressman Glenn Grothman, Senator Devin LeMahieu, Representative Paul Tittl, Representative Lindee Brill, Sheriff Matt Spence, District 9 State Senate candidate Amy Binsfeld, and District 59 Assembly candidate Brad Peterson.

All in all, it was a full and enjoyable afternoon. The rain stayed away, the food was plentiful, and the company was even better!

A special thank-you to everyone who brought a dish or dessert to share, to those who volunteered their time to make the event possible, and especially to the first responders who joined us and gave us a closer look at the work they do in service to our communities.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Freedom Fest a memorable day!
