To: Members of the Republican Party of Sheboygan County
From: Dennis Gasper, Membership Chair, RPSC
Wisconsin election laws permit the two major parties (Republican and Democratic) to nominate qualified individuals to serve as poll workers and Special Voting Deputies (SV) in county municipalities for a two-year term. The names of the partisan nominees for poll worker and SVD positions must be submitted by the Chairman of RPSC (Republican Party of Sheboygan County) to the heads of the municipal governments and municipal clerks by November 30, 2025. Poll workers are paid by the municipality in which they work.
The election schedule for the 2026-2027 election cycle will include the two spring elections and the 2026 fall election. Also included are the primaries that precede each election.
If you were a Republican poll worker in the last two-year election cycle, we thank you and appreciate your past service. You will be asked to serve as a Republican poll worker again by RPSC for the upcoming two-year election cycle.
If you have never been a poll worker or SVD, here is what to expect:
1) The Chairman of RPSC will nominate you to be a City of Sheboygan Poll Worker, or if you prefer, the municipality of your choice.
2) To be qualified, you must be over 18 years old and live in Sheboygan County
3) You must fill out a job application at the municipality of your choice. For the City of Sheboygan, please apply to the City Clerk at 828 Center Ave. You may apply starting immediately.
4) Upon being hired, you will be directed by the municipal clerk to participate in training sessions at the appropriate time. Contact RPSC if the municipal clerk ignores your application.
5) You will be given a poll location and hours that you need to be there. Sometimes you have the choice of working all day or half days.
6) Your job will be to work with the municipal clerks to make the elections run as smoothly as possible, as well as oversee the day’s happenings for RPSC.
You must make every effort to be courteous, attentive, and cooperative in your dealings with the clerk’s office and the voters. You must abide by the election laws, or you will be immediately terminated. The way you do your job reflects not only on you personally but also on the Republican Party of Sheboygan County.
