Christian Ellis is running for State Senate in the 9th District—which includes most of Sheboygan County and portions of Manitowoc, Fond du Lac, and Calumet counties—and he’s trying to pull the wool over your eyes.
But wait, isn’t he telling everyone he’s some kind of independent?
It’s true that he’s on the ballot as an Independent, and he’d like you to believe he represents something new rather than the far-leftist that he is. But calling yourself independent doesn’t erase a decade of leftism.
Several people from around the county have approached me independently and told me that Christian Ellis is going into conservative areas and presenting himself as the conservative in the race. That’s a pretty crazy lie coming from a man in the left wing of the Democratic Party.
Follow the Money
A quick check of Wisconsin’s campaign-finance database shows that Ellis has spent nearly a decade contributing to the Democratic Party, Tony Evers, other Democrats, and fellow pretend moderate Joe Sheehan—the Democrat who currently represents the City of Sheboygan in the State Assembly.
There is no record of Ellis ever giving a cent to a conservative candidate or cause.
Wisconsin’s most prominent socialist is Francesca Hong. Ellis contributed to Hong’s campaign not once, not twice, but five separate times. You can review those records here.
Five separate contributions represent a repeated choice. So voters deserve to know something about the politician Ellis repeatedly supported:
- In 2021, Hong wrote: “Police exist to uphold white supremacy. Defund then abolish. Reform can’t be an option.”
- In January 2026, Hong was one of only six Assembly members who voted against Assembly Bill 677, which would make child grooming a felony. The bill passed 93–6. A vote against that legislation does not establish a motive, but voters are entitled to know that the vote occurred.
- Hong also voted against Assembly Bill 105, which would have required reasonable age verification for websites containing substantial amounts of material deemed harmful to minors. The Assembly passed it 69–22, with support from members of both parties. Governor Tony Evers later vetoed it.
- In a now-deleted 2020 social-media post, Hong wrote, “Cancel Thanksgiving. Should have done this in 1621,” before attacking the holiday as a celebration of colonialism. The post was reproduced by Breitbart and later reported by The Washington Post, which also covered Hong’s subsequent response.
Five contributions are not an accident. Ellis repeatedly chose to support Wisconsin’s most prominent socialist. That choice is part of his political record, and voters have every right to weigh it when he asks them to believe he is an Independent.
For federal donations, Ellis continues his unbroken streak of supporting socialists by donating to Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Progressive Wisconsin, and Kamala Harris, just to name a few. His latest donation to AOC was this year. You can review Ellis’s federal contribution records through the Federal Election Commission.
Ellis also received the formal endorsement of the Sheboygan County Democratic Party, and he publicly thanked the party for it.
Apparently, Ellis is independent enough to avoid placing a “D” beside his name—but not too independent to accept the local Democratic Party’s support.
Ellis in His Own Words
You don’t have to take our word for any of this. Explore Ellis’s own campaign website and read what he says.
On abortion, Ellis says he supports “reproductive freedom” and opposes government mandates. He plays a little coy but doesn’t mention supporting any limits on abortion at all. No doubt Ellis will join the nine-month, pro-death, no-exception Democrats and continue the left’s culture of death against Wisconsin’s littlest citizens. Not a moderate or independent—literally just a copy-and-paste of the pro-abortion left.
On firearms, Ellis says he supports the Second Amendment, but he also supports red-flag laws—a favorite first step of leftists on their way to taking guns from people they disagree with, which is you. Gun-grabbing liberals almost always use euphemisms for gun control.
Ellis also virtue-signals to the “LGBTQ+” crowd on his website and weighs in against our Legislature standing up to the transgender madness in schools. You won’t find one syllable pushing back against the radical gender-bending policies of the Democratic Party—just soft, cozy, feel-good words about equality. The message is clear: Ellis won’t stand up for biological reality in Madison. Kids suffer when adults deny gender reality.
Democrats statewide are trying to weaken Wisconsin’s school-choice program, and Christian Ellis is no exception. Instead of giving more power to parents in their children’s education, Ellis wants to give that power to the government. Typical Democrat stuff.
These are not rumors about what Ellis might believe. They are his own published positions. Voters can read them and decide whether they sound like an independent platform—or familiar Democratic policies wrapped in softer language.
Here, I would like to remind the reader that Ellis is running around lying to the good folks of our county and pretending to be a moderate, independent, or even conservative.
How Do We Stop Him?
How do we stop Christian Ellis from selling Democratic-socialist politics under an Independent label? Vote for Amy Binsfeld for State Senate.
Amy has a clear, documented record from her time in the Wisconsin Assembly. Her votes and positions are public, so voters can judge her record for themselves.
Amy will stand up to the socialists, not join them like Christian Ellis. She will stand up for parents and children. She will stand against the radical gender ideology being pushed into Wisconsin schools, protect parental rights, strengthen school choice, and make sure parents—not Madison bureaucrats—remain in charge of their children’s education and upbringing.
Amy doesn’t need to hide behind a label or rewrite her political identity. She has a record, she stands by it, and she tells voters exactly where she stands.
Amy has stepped up to stop Christian Ellis and his Democratic allies from transforming Wisconsin into their socialist dream. Amy has earned your vote on or before November 3.
And while you’re at it, vote for all the other Republicans on the ballot and tell all your friends and family about Tom Tiffany for Governor. Tiffany has pledged to freeze property taxes, protect Wisconsin farmland from foreign ownership, and restore common sense to state government.
Vote Amy Binsfeld for State Senate. Vote Tom Tiffany for Governor. Then vote Republican all the way down the ballot.
This November, vote your values all the way down the ballot.
Vote for individual freedom, parents and families, education, responsible government, and local control.
And when you look at the candidates, look beyond what they call themselves. Look at their records. Look at their positions. Look at who supports them.

Wisconsin cannot afford Democratic socialism disguised as an Independent.
